POSITION: JUNIOR DATA SCIENTIST
SCHEDULE: FULL-TIME (40 HOURS)

SALARY: $70,000 - $85,000

MK Analytics is looking for a full-time Junior Data Scientist. Ideal candidates are positive-minded and enjoy working collaboratively to drive productivity while helping promote team culture. In this role, you will support Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and Founders in contributing to client analyses and findings by assisting with data collection, cleaning, validation, and preliminary analyses. You will also be tasked with rigorously documenting methodologies, assumptions, and processes for our records and distribution to clients.

WHO WE THINK MIGHT BE A GREAT FIT:

  • 1-3 years of experience in an analyst role

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university, master’s degree a plus

  • Familiar with at least one programming/scripting language (e.g., Python, R, SQL )

  • Basic understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms

CORE LANGUAGES:

We use a flexible, primarily open-source technology stack to meet client needs. Examples of core tools used in our work include:

  • Programming Languages: Python, R, SQL, HTML, JavaScript, D3, CSS, Neo4J, Cypher

  • Formatting Languages: HTML, CSS, LaTeX, Markdown

  • Data Processing and Analytics: Amazon Web Services, Excel, Neo4j, Tableau

  • GIS: ArcGIS, Geopandas, QGIS, Leaflet

  • Design tools: Canva, Lucidchart

  • Other tools: Jupyter Notebook, GitHub, Okta
